A little about me
My name is Claire Folgate and I am a fully qualified Reflexologist. I work from my home in Shepperton, I have been a member of the Association of Reflexologists (AoR) since qualifying in 2018 and I am passionate about helping people find calm and balance within their life through this wonderful complimentary therapy. I have also been attuned to Reiki Level 1 and find this has greatly enhanced my treatments with clients.
The theory underlying Reflexology is based upon reflex points on the feet, hands and face that correspond to the body's internal systems, for example nerves, organs and glands. The treatment is a holistic approach to your well being - through the feet the mind and body is treated as a whole.
During a treatment, the aim is to promote relaxation and bring calm to both mind and body. Any sensitivities detected by yourself, or I, can indicate imbalances. I would therefore gently work on these areas to disperse and promote balance and harmony within.
To view different reflexology points and what they correspond to, please view the AOR Reflexology foot-map here.
Balance
Reflexology is believed to re-balance the systems of the body so that they work harmoniously. It can be a wonderful way to reduce stress and anxiety that comes with busy lifestyles, helping you sleep better and therefore feel better.
Relaxation
Reflexology can induce a deep state of relaxation, it is not uncommon to drift off to sleep during a treatment. Deeply relaxing helps relieve tension and aids circulation, increasing the flow of nutrients, oxygen and energy to all parts of the body, and helping with the removal of waste products.
Health
Better well-being is what we all want and whilst Reflexology cannot diagnose or cure, it can be particularly helpful in managing many health conditions, especially constant or recurring ones that we might have come to accept over time as being a normal part of life.

I offer reflexology at my home in Shepperton, Surrey
which is easily accessible from the surrounding areas of Upper Halliford, Laleham, Ashford, Walton-on-Thames, Hersham, Weybridge, Chertsey, Sunbury, Lower Sunbury, East and West Molesey, Hampton Court and Hampton.
The first treatment will include a 10minute completion of a simple form for me to gather some information about your current and past health and will include both physical and emotional well-being. Once you are made comfortable and have removed your socks and shoes, I wipe the feet with a moist wipe and then apply a balm to help facilitate the movement of my hands. As a reflexologist I don’t diagnose or claim to cure but at the end of the treatment I will give you feedback on any imbalances noticed and answer any of your questions.
£50 - The full treatment lasts up to 1hour at my treatment room in Shepperton.
Treatment at Mary Anne Weeks Aveda is £60 for a 1hour treatment.
Please note to avoid a cancellation charge I require 24hours notice as a courtesy to other clients waiting for appointments.
Self-care is often overlooked, but taking time to nurture your well-being is so important. Reflexology is believed to be a preventative form of therapy that aims to balance both mind and body promoting harmony within oneself.
Please note if you have a new health concern you would need to contact your GP in the first instance.
As a Reflexologist I do not claim to diagnose or cure, but it can certainly be used alongside conventional treatments as a support for many illnesses be they acute or chronic. The Reflexology effect can be very surprising! The only way to discover this is to give it a try.
There are Private Medical Insurances that cover Reflexology, it certainly would be worth a check. I would provide you with a receipt upon payment which includes my AoR details.
You might find some areas feel sensitive to the touch this can indicate imbalances, but Reflexology does not involve hard pressing in the way like a sports massage might. As a therapist I will be aware of the status of your feet, noticing how they feel, the temperature and colour. All these things play a part in understanding which areas of your body - as reflected through your feet - require a bit more care and attention.
